He further add more that Despite the atmosphere of tension, fear and allegations of political violence and thuggery that characterised the build-up to the election, the people of Osun State demonstrated that the power of democracy ultimately belongs to the people. Reports before the poll had highlighted serious concerns about political violence and intimidation, making the peaceful conduct of voting an important test for the state's democratic process.
We particularly commend the citizens who came out in large numbers to exercise their constitutional right to vote for candidates of their choice without allowing fear or intimidation to deprive them of their civic responsibility.
We therefore describe the election as a significant victory for democracy and the people's mandate. The outcome demonstrates once again that political power cannot permanently be imposed through fear, intimidation or violence; it must ultimately be earned through the confidence of the electorate He add that,
We congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke, who was declared winner by INEC with 511,067 votes, and we urge all political actors to respect the outcome of the democratic process and place the peace and development of Osun State above partisan interests.
To the people of Osun State, we salute your courage. You came out, you voted, and you made your voices heard.
Our Party calls on the political class to learn from this election and reject the politics of violence, intimidation and thuggery. Elections should be contests of ideas, policies, character and competence—not battles that place the lives and safety of citizens at risk.
Democracy has spoken. The people have spoken. Osun has spoken.
