Commercial motorcycle riders in Ondo City, Ondo State, on Saturday staged a protest over the cost of a mandatory biker vest reportedly priced at ₦7,000.

The protest, which attracted an estimated 200 or more commercial motorcycle riders, took place around the Police Area Command in Yaba, where the riders gathered to express their opposition to the requirement.

According to information gathered, the riders said they do not want the mandatory vest and called for the requirement to be cancelled, describing the cost as too high.

The protesters reportedly blocked roads around the area during the demonstration, disrupting movement as they voiced their grievances.
