Residents of Aujarawar Alkali community in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State have reportedly been thrown into fear following the abduction of their traditional ruler.
The village head, Ahmad Yakubu Ahmad, popularly known as Ruwata, was reportedly taken away during a late-night attack on the community on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
According to the information available, armed men invaded the community and abducted the traditional ruler before taking him to an undisclosed location.
The incident was confirmed on Friday by Mahi Isma’il, spokesperson to the Zannan Kano and District Head of Jogana.
Isma’il described the incident as a serious development for the community, noting that it had raised concerns about security in the area.
The abduction has reportedly heightened anxiety among residents, while the victim’s family and community leaders remain concerned about his whereabouts and safety.
Details about the identity of the abductors, their demands, and the current location of the village head were not provided in the statement.
